Quotes from Hillary Clinton and Lilian Katz
All of us have to recognize that we owe our children more than we have been giving them. Hillary Clinton
If formal instruction is introduced too early, too intensely and too abstractly, the children may indeed learn the instructed knowledge and skills, but they may do so at the expense of the disposition to use them. Lilian Katz
Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the welfare of our
children is intimately linked to the welfare of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. If one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will be responsible for the violent act. The good life for our own children can be secured only if a good life is also secured for all other people's children. Lilian Katz

Whenever I get bogged down with the paperwork, I say okay take 20 minutes and go see the children so you don't forget what your doing all this for. Raymond Hernandez
Its helps me to put my ego aside and help these children to succeed. Renatta M. Cooper
I like your quote from Katz regarding the introduction to formal instruction too early. I agree, a lot of times we attempt to have our children grow up too early with strict learning. I think the way early childhood educators are being taught and performing in the classrooms is learning by play. Thank goodness. Let kids be kids!
ReplyDeleteThe quote from Raymond Hernadez is really true! It is hard once you get out of teaching in the classroom to remember how much and important what you are doing is. Working in the administration side sometime gets overwhelming and stressful, as does teaching - you just don't get the child interaction all the time.
