Throughout my Masters in Early Childhood Studies I have
learned a lot about myself and others. I have relearned the value of
self-reflecting and how it benefits both you and your mission. I
have learned and redefined my passion in the early childhood field. I
found that I am very passionate about the inclusion of all children, especially
the young children that demonstrate challenging behaviors. I am a
firm believer that all young children should have high quality, safe and
equitable education and care no matter what their ethnicity, race, gender,
ability level, or family type. During this program I learned about
research and how important it is for the early childhood field. I
also take with me the knowledge about diversity and now understand that it is a
long hard journey that begins with me taking a little step and is a lifelong
process.
Saying good bye is a hard thing to do.
I want to
thank all my colleagues that have supported, commented, and shared their ideas
with me. Without your support this program would not be
meaningful. You are what made this program successful for me. I
hope that we stay connected with each other. Thank you for helping
me grow and improve my abilities to make social change in the early childhood
field.
If you want to keep in touch with me, my email address is mcghees4@yahoo.com. I hope that we
can continue to support each other on our journey.
Dear Catherine, I would like to take this time to thank you for sharing what is dear to you, as a professional. I do agree with you about every child should be offered high quality care, and it shall continue with our support, and research. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Catherine,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post and your contributions to our class. I like your comment about how advocacy begins with a small step. There is so much to be done; however, if we all take that small step we will get there eventually. I wish you the best of luck in the future!
Catherine,
ReplyDeleteYour passion shows in every discussion and assignment. Thank you for sharing this journey. It has been wonderful. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of us. Please keep in touch.
Catherine,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of your wisdom and for sharing your heart in this work. Congratulations to you and good luck on your future ventures.
Heather
Catherine,
ReplyDeleteYou have had so much to share and I thank you. I too feel that the journey of understanding diversity begins within each of us and is a lifelong journey of reflection and recognizing in ourselves what drives us to feel the way we do. I have really valued all you have had to share through my time here at Walden. Thanks a bunch!
Hi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteI too have learned the value of reflection. After completing an assignment, I always thought of a way I could have done it better once I submitted it. I must admit, I had to see this as a positive rather than a negative at the beginning. The act of reflection has allowed me to think more critically, this has been a TREMENDOUS asset to my daily teaching. Thank Catherine for all your contributions, I wish you the best in your career.
